Does a Danish passport photo need a white background?
No, and this is the detail that catches people out. Denmark specifies a light grey or light blue background, not white — a photo cropped to another country's white-background standard may not be accepted.
What head size does a Danish passport photo need?
30mm to 36mm measured from the chin to the top of the head, on a 45mm-tall photo, with roughly 3mm of clearance above your hair.
Where do I apply for a Danish passport?
Through politi.dk, the Danish national police, who handle passport issuance. Photos are commonly taken at the appointment itself, so check before paying for prints.
