Is the India e-Visa photo the same size as the new Indian passport photo?
No — the passport moved to 35×45mm on 1 September 2025, but the e-Visa (a separate system run by the Bureau of Immigration, not Passport Seva) stayed at the older 2×2 inch (51×51mm) square format.
What's the head size requirement for an India e-Visa photo?
25mm to 35mm from chin to the top of the hair, with eye height between 28.6mm and 34.9mm from the bottom of the photo — the same US-style convention the e-Visa portal has used for years.
What file size does indianvisaonline.gov.in accept for the photo upload?
A JPEG between 350×350 and 1000×1000 pixels, and between 10 KB and 300 KB — check both the pixel and file-size limits, since a high-resolution image can pass the pixel minimum but still exceed the KB maximum.
